GLOTRANS ATTENDED THE CONFERENCE ON THE LINK TO DEVELOP INDUSTRIAL ZONES IN EASTERN HIGHWAY.

On the last August 31st, in Hai Phong City Convention Center, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry combined with 4 city and provinces, namely Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen and Hai Duong organized “The Conference on the Link to Develop Industrial Zones in Eastern Highway.”


The conference was in the series of program to materialize “the Agreement on Vietnam's Eastern Highway Economic Corridor” signed in July 2022. Accordingly, 4 city and provinces fully agreed to build the economic link in the basis of promoting the potentials, advantages of each province, speeding up the developing rate, developing economy and forming growth poles in the Red River Delta.


In the conference, experts, scientists and businesses discussed a great number of issues related to effectively promote and develop industrial zones, connect and develop infrastructure and essential institutions such as seaport, and social housing, ect .., expand industrial zone following a sustainable and green orientation.


The conference is an important event which provide a panorama of investment and development in the infrastructure of industrial zones and industrial clusters in the eastern highway for investors, investment promotion organizations and related organizations. At the same time, creating condition for Glotrans particularly and 4 provinces’ businesses generally associate to effectively exploit investment, goods source, supporting services; expand the service network; increase competitive ability; decline cost for businesses and companies.

DISPUTE OVER THE SHIPMENT OF ENZYMES IMPORTED FROM INDIA

The Insured’s Duty to Prevent and Mitigate Losses

Company T (Plaintiff – the Insured) entered into an insurance contract with Company B (Defendant – the Insurer). After the insured event occurred, the Insurer alleged that the Insured had violated its obligation to prevent and mitigate losses. The Arbitral Tribunal acknowledged that such an obligation exists but concluded that the Insured did not breach it.

Insurance Contracts Do Not Automatically Terminate Due to Late Premium Payment

Under the insurance contract, the premium was to be paid in three installments, and in all three, the insured party was late in payment. When a dispute arose, the insurer (Defendant) argued that the insurance contract had terminated before the insured event occurred due to the late premium payment and therefore refused to make an insurance payout. However, the Arbitral Tribunal held a contrary view.
