After 2 months of internship at Glotrans HCM, it was just right amount of time for interns to have the opportunity to learn, be trained and gain the most practical experience in Logistics field. Under the right direction from the Board of Directors, the Steering Committee of the Internship Program, along with the efforts and enthusiasm of all the managers, the instructors, and the extreme assiduousness of all the trainees participated in the course, until today, all made an undeniable successful training course. And, they successfully completed the internship program – phase I at Glotrans HCM.

With the orientation to “spread fire” to the young generation, the responsibility in training and fostering high-quality human resources, helping the undergraduates to acquire basic knowledge of the professional fields, as well as to gain basic skills in work and life, Glotrans HCM has successfully completed the orientation set by the Board of Directors and the Steering Committee.

The interns also sent their sincere thanks to the Board of Directors, the Steering Committee of the Internship Program, the managers and instructors, as well as all the staff in the departments for their enthusiasm in helping and identifying the shortcomings, imparting knowledge, and especially assisting the interns to have a more thorough view of Logistics field, gain practical experience when working with customers, and be exposed to the processes at port and airport. Not only at work, they were also guided by people on corporate culture, greeting and caring for people, teaching them manners and skills in life. With that knowledge, they will be successful in work and life in the future.

Once again, we would like to send our sincere thanks for the attention of the Board of Directors, the Steering Committee of Glotrans's Trainee Project, along with all the managers and instructors who created conditions for the trainees to study and train themselves. Wish all the trainees have a firm foundation of knowledge which they can learn and develop more to build a strong Logistics community.

FuelEU 2025: How Much Will Shipping Costs Increase – And Can Pooling Really Save Shippers?

From January 1, 2025, the FuelEU Maritime regulation officially takes effect, requiring ships to reduce their “well-to-wake” greenhouse gas intensity by 2% compared to the 2020 baseline, with targets rising progressively until 2050. As a result, “green” costs—including scarce alternative fuels, compliance fees, verification expenses, and carbon-related surcharges—are now clearly reflected in the invoices issued by carriers and shippers. FuelEU does not mandate the use of any specific fuel. Instead, it allows operators to choose the optimal combination of solutions—such as blended biofuels, LNG/bio-LNG, wind-assisted propulsion, or operational optimization—as long as the required emission intensity is achieved. In practice, on major European trade lanes, many carriers have already begun introducing separate “Green Compliance Surcharges” rather than incorporating all environmental costs into traditional bunker surcharges.
