GLOTRANS HCM PARTICIPATES IN GREEN ECONOMY FORUM AND EXHIBITION (GEFE) 2022 IN HO CHI MINH CITY

GEFE 2022 has the participation of many experts, scientists, students and government representatives from Europe, Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The event was organized by the Green Growth Sub-Committee of EuroCham and supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, 9 Business Associations under EuroCham; embassies, government agencies on the European side, as well as ministries and departments on the Vietnamese side.

Green Economy Exhibition with 200 booths of businesses from Europe, international and Vietnam in the fields of: renewable energy, smart city, sustainable agriculture, circular economy, water treatment, waste, environment... in which the common pavilion of Vietnamese enterprises with the participation of 40 Vietnamese enterprises, displays products and solutions suitable to the theme of the exhibition.

At the same time, within the framework of the exhibition, there are also many activities, a conference to connect and trade businesses between Vietnam and the EU, and the annual Vietnam Export Promotion Forum in 2022 with the theme "Green Export Promotion" organized by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired, with the participation of representatives of World Bank, UNIDO, ITC, SIPPO, EU Delegation in Vietnam... to exchange export promotion activities in the new context, associated with the strong transition to green economy, circular economy, green growth, green development worldwide.

The exhibition held in Vietnam is a favorable condition for the gathering of a large number of enterprises in the industry to meet, exchange, learn and capture information, and at the same time display and introduce their products with domestic and foreign customers in order to find partners, promote exports, and expand markets.

The Insured’s Duty to Prevent and Mitigate Losses

Company T (Plaintiff – the Insured) entered into an insurance contract with Company B (Defendant – the Insurer). After the insured event occurred, the Insurer alleged that the Insured had violated its obligation to prevent and mitigate losses. The Arbitral Tribunal acknowledged that such an obligation exists but concluded that the Insured did not breach it.

Insurance Contracts Do Not Automatically Terminate Due to Late Premium Payment

Under the insurance contract, the premium was to be paid in three installments, and in all three, the insured party was late in payment. When a dispute arose, the insurer (Defendant) argued that the insurance contract had terminated before the insured event occurred due to the late premium payment and therefore refused to make an insurance payout. However, the Arbitral Tribunal held a contrary view.
